I know, I talk about Google a LOT.
And you're probably going to get really sick of me talk about which app on my Android phone is the "absolute best" really soon.
BUT!
Google Music is the absolute best.
I love all kinds of music. While I was growing up my parents used to play music and sing in the house all the time. While cleaning, while cooking, while working on the yard or the car, the best way to pass the time doing ANY work was to do so with music on.
My parents were huge fans of old school R&B music. My mom would listen to Aretha Franklin, The Supremes and the like, while my dad liked to mix it up and listened to Muddy Waters, Parliament Funkadelic and The Beatles. Because of this my music tastes vary, and even in the age of digital music sometimes it's hard to find all the songs I want to hear.
Enter Google Music.
I tried Spotify before, and I didn't dislike it, but it always ran slow on my computer and I wasn't opposed to paying the $10 for Spotify Premium, but I wasn't too fond of the fact that it would share all the music I listened to with my Facebook "friends." Amazon is great for buying music, but there are times when I have more music I wanna listen to than money, so buying everything I'm interested in isn't the best idea. Also the Zune Pass? Even when that was around it was pretty pricey ($14.99 a month? What were the thinking?!).
Google Music launched this year at the right time and price, on $7.99 if you bought it during the first few months and $9.99 after that. I was lucky enough to get in on the $7.99 price and am pleased with my purchase. I've been able to find music from Nina Simone, Amplify Dot (my future wife) and even Noisettes! Also like with Spotify the app will let you pin music onto your phone or tablet so you don't need to used the internet to listen to them!
So if you get the chance, definitely check it out! I promise you'll like it!
