Paying It Forward: Podcasts I Love part 3

For my contribution to Paying it Forward, which was motivated by @IndasCorner’s xojane article These 5 Podcasts Led by Black Women Keep Me Company... And Give Me Life, I have picked two podcasts that have brighten my commute. I am grateful to share these recommendations and show some of the love she showed us to these podcast I feel are worth more attention.

Sci-Fi Partyline is a podcast that focuses on science fiction/fantasy television shows and movies.  It has been active since 2009 and currently has over 200 episodes. They’ve covered everything from Stargate: Universe to True Blood with humor and vigor. The podcast is mainly hosted by Cat (@fancyfembot) and Carl (@robominster)  with rotating co-hosts including: Steph @stephbystereo, Eric @BullittWho Hananko @hmrpotter) and Darrell @thevoice123). They critique, debate and sometimes torture each other with different shows. I have been listening for years and I love it. In 2012, we had Cat on the show, spoiler alert- she was amazing. I would recommend this show if you love science fiction and fantasy or even if you just have a passing interest.

Recommended Episodes:
Unbreakable, Yes M. Night
Torchwood, Doctor Who, Eureka, Durarara

Worst Bestsellers is a book podcast hosted by Kait (@fourteenacross) and Renita (@renatasnacks) with a featured guest. They review, dissect and mock popular bestsellers across different genres. They also do dramatic readings of particularly hard to swallow passages. This is a podcast that could easily turn mean but they are able to keep the right amount of snark. As they say on their website, they mock the literature, not the reader. They have been podcasting since 2014.

Recommended episodes:
City of Bones
