Topics: This week's show is all Nerdtastic News!  World Fantasy award drops HP Lovecraft as prize image and we wonder who will be chosen as the new prize image.  Jeffery Dean Morgan “aka Denny Duqutte aka John Winchester” has been casted as Negan in The Walking Dead TV Show which made DeAna consider watching the show for a hot second.   Sleepy Hollow moves to Fridays and we prepare our goodbyes since Fox can't be bothered to keep supernatural or Sci-fi shows long.  Lastly, we discussed the protests by Black students at University of Missouri campus

For the Black-Owned Business of the Week section, Turner Classic Movies to Showcase Films by Women Directors This Month (Ava DuVernay, Julie Dash, Euzhan Palcy, Kathleen Collins + More Included).  On October 22nd,  they will air an entire night of independent black films by black female directors.

Our topics are TV Fall premieres of Sleepy Hollow, Minority Report, Empire, Dr. Ken and Agents of Shield.  We also asked that tv networks #PleaseLetThisGo.   There is a list of shows we would like to end on a high note & end the series already.  Our list contains Bones, Supernatural and Fear the Walking Dead.  We try to hold an intervention for Melissa about her holding on to Big Bang Theory.

Sleepy Hollow's Casting Announcement Shows Its Priorities... and Its Failures

(Inda Lauryn has been published in Blackberry, A Magazine, Interfictions, The Toast, XOJane, and Callaloo as well as had her work featured on blogs such as Black Girl Nerds, Bitch Flicks, and AfroPunk. She is currently working on a novel and a sci-fi web series, occasionally blogs at Corner Store Press and hosts a radio show at MixCloud.)

Sleepy Hollow was an immediate success when it first premiered in the fall of 2013. Those of us who frequently livetweet had a blast with the first episode and were immediately hooked. By the time we got through the season finale of the 13-episode run, we were elated and thought we finally had the show we've wanted for years.

Then season 2 happened.

This week we talk about the difficulty sharing our experiences as a black woman in regards to critiquing gaming community and mainstream white feminism(tm).  We start off mentioning how late Sony in denouncing GamerGate then Patricia Arquette's tone deaf comment at the Oscars about wage equality asking for gays & POC to "fight for us now".  Speaking of the Oscars, our opinions of Neal Patrick Harris' hosting.  

Next, we recap the lastest episodes of Empire, Sleepy Hollow season finale, Constantine and Gotham.  We say goodbye to Parks & Rec, Glee and Justified while imploring Supernatural & Bones to hang it up and end the series.

Check out the panel, We Usually Have To Racebend for this Cast, at Wiscon 38.  

Sleepy Hollow debuted in September 2013. The cast includes two people of color as regulars as well as many other people of color in the supporting cast. Fans of the show immediately took to it and the cast, writers, and crew of the show regularly interact with fans on social media. This panel discusses how the show includes a truly racially diverse issues. It will also discuss fan reactions to the show, particularly the character Abbie Mills, who is at the heart if the show.
